Teamed up with Marks and Spencer Australia to talk layers for winter and beyond…

When Marks and Spencer Australia asked me to put together some Winter looks I decided to set myself a little style challenge: create multiple looks from a few key pieces…that we can wear through Spring as well. Easy 😉

The key players in my capsule wardrobe were:

Midi Dress:

the neutral grey and sleeveless style means layering is a cinch while the midi length makes it appropriate for weekend or casual Friday work wear (just add a blazer like styled above)

High-Waisted Jeans:

Super stretchy, high-waisted (read: SLIMMING) and just $33- need I say more? Actually, I do want to point out the lack of rips/holes which makes for another office to weekend piece.

Striped Shirt:

Another ‘no-brainer’ piece that can polish off a jeans and jumper combo, add a bit of skin by undoing a button under a warm trench and take it into Spring by wearing loose over a slip dress.

Knit:

With layering in mind I’ve gone for thinner fabric in an easy pink that looks great with the otherwise black, white and grey colour palette of this capsule wardrobe. There’s a bit of sparkle to the material as well, a super easy way to add some interest if worn alone with jeans.

PrintedTrench coat:

The colours maybe neutral but the print turns it into the perfect accent piece to finish off a look. Super warm AND waterproof for $76. Cheers, Marks and Spencer!

Bright handbag:

This mustard bag reminds me of summer and is the perfect pop of colour to round off this capsule wardrobe. Can’t wait to re-style with maybe head to toe white or classic denim hues.
